05 Nov Seattle Beyond Starbucks: A Coffee Addict’s Guide
What’s everyone’s favorite pick-me-up? Coffee, right?! Well, Seattle too, so we assume. Seattle is infamously known for being where the popular coffee chain, Starbucks, originated. While on your trip you can take a visit to the original and wait in line for even longer than usual, for the same coffee you always get. Of course, why would you when you can venture out to some of the other fantastic coffee shops scattered around Seattle?!
Try something new, why don’t we. Come on, you are on vacay after all, right?! Or, maybe you’re a Seattle native that just needs to switch things up a bit when it comes to the world favorite bean. Here’s our coffee addicts guide to Seattle, Washington.
Intrigue Chocolate and Coffee House
Located at Pioneer Square, Intrigue Chocolate and Coffee House has just about everything. They’re best known for their unique, delicious chocolate, but in addition to this, they have a variety of other foods, and of course what we’re all here for … coffee!
What they offer changes seasonally, based on the spices they can find locally, so you can always sip something new. Also, who doesn’t want the best of both worlds with coffee AND chocolate?
Capitol Coffee Works
Capitol Coffee Works is a coffee shop located on Pike Street, in downtown Seattle. Not only is the scenery incredibly cute, but they have raving reviews about their rich and delicious coffee, which is said to stand out from many others in the area. Plus, who can resist some good latte art? Not us, that’s for sure.
The best thing about Bellden Cafe is that it’s about a lot more than just coffee. No, really, it is! The cafe is actually in Bellevue, a city just across Lake Washington from Seattle. So if you ever find yourself venturing outside the city, we definitely recommend checking it out.
The cafe works to help a variety of nonprofits in the area, and the staff is made up of volunteers. Pretty neat, huh? So not only are they just an all-around cool, thoughtful staff, but the coffee is pretty good too.
Dubsea Coffee is not only known for its exceptional coffee, but also for its friendly and welcoming staff. We’re talking legit friendly. The cafe is decorated with the work of local artists and is switched up often, so you’ll always have new exciting art to look at.
In addition to their coffee, they serve a variety of pastries. And just in case you were wondering, they totally have options for everyone with allergies and specific diets, by offering vegan and gluten-free snacks. Whatever it is you’re craving, they’ve got you covered.
Le Panier French Bakery
While not entirely being known for its coffee, Le Panier French Bakery is a must when it comes to your time exploring the Pike Place Market. This cute shop is located right in the middle of the famous, Pikes Place market, so you won’t miss it. The bakery has just about everything from a wide selection of macarons, to nearly any bread or pastry you can think of. Oh, and coffee too!
Espresso Vivace has five locations, spread out around Seattle. So, no matter where you may be around the city, you just have to check it out. It’s been praised for years by critics and coffee enthusiasts, so it obviously had to make the list.
The coffee shop has a northern Italian style, so we’d recommend a Cappuccino. YUM! You’re definitely in for a treat with this one!
There you go! Now you’ll never be tired on your next trip to Seattle. You’ll have plenty of great coffee and Insta-worthy pictures of latte art to last you your entire trip (all without Starbucks, might we add).
